Be Yourself, Be Unique And Don’t Listen

If you need to re-kindle your entrepreneurial fire you must ignore the meaningless opinions of others.  When you come to a crossroads and a decision has to be made, follow your heart.

At one time the telegraph was considered by almost everyone to be a permanent fixture for communications. When Mr. Bell came along with his telephone he was scoffed at by almost everyone. The telegraph made much more sense. It left a paper trail and you could read it on the other end at your leisure without being there to answer it.

This “telephone” was expensive, it required that the other person have one. Banks were not ready to invest in Mr. Bell’s impractical invention. Fortunately for our society, Mr. Bell was an entrepreneur and ignored conventional wisdom.

Conventional wisdom imprisons one to the present and dooms others to the past.

Other classic examples of this spirit abound in our past:  The Wright Brothers, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, John Rockefeller, Howard Hughes, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, etc.

I must admit as I look around today – that spirit seems to be diminished. Don’t allow it to happen to you. Stay true to what you believe in.

There is only one YOU and your business is unique. Create your own future and run with it!

How Long Should Your Copy Be?

Well, if you’re writing to sell something – the answer is simple.

Long enough.

Many will tell you that you should keep your message short because people simply won’t read a long sales message.

Hogwash.

People will read what interests them. And they will keep reading if your message continues to draw them along.

Articles and sales messages are not long or short…

… they are either interesting or they are not.
